May 26th, 2020
Dear Wave Crest Owner,
We hope you and your family continue to be safe and well during these difficult times. Your board and management company wanted to provide you an update on the status of the Wave Crest Resort while the Shelter in Place orders remain in California to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of May 26th, our resort continues to be closed due to the California state restriction on leisure lodging. Your board met three times during the last week with our management company to review the preparations that are underway for opening in a safe manner as well as exploring the options available to us. We have also been in contact with the city of Del Mar and the County of San Diego and will continue to do so until we are able to open. At Wave Crest, all our owners are part of the family and we are working hard to do the best job we can.
The situation continues to change frequently, so please refer to our website for the latest news at wavecrestresort.com; it will have the latest information and links to health orders relevant to Wave Crest. Leisure lodging, the business area we fall under, continues to be listed as a non-essential business that is to remain closed in San Diego County. We are hopeful this may change soon, but we have no insight as to the timing. We do understand some other properties are open and are investigating if there is a way for us to do so legally, however, the county continues to advise us we are to remain closed.
For those owners who have already missed their reservation or will do so soon, the board approved a set of options to assist with a future vacation. You will be contacted soon with this information. At this time there is no reason to contact the Wave Crest office or Grand Pacific Vacation Services, both have minimal staff and are working on preparing to open, as well as keeping owners with upcoming reservations in the next 2-3 weeks informed. There will be time to review and select the option that works best for you once we have resumed operations.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this pandemic, it is a difficult situation for all of us. Your Board and Management company will continue to meet on a regular basis to review the situation.
Stay safe and well,
